* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measure for the thickness of the thread from which stockings and pantyhose are made.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose will be. Conversely, the higher the DENIER number (40, 70, etc.), the more transparent the stocking or pantyhose will be. It is thicker and less skin will be visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber stockings and pantyhose of 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. They are often worn in autumn and winter.
