* What is a DENIER?
A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread from which stockings and tights are made.
The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the fabric and the less visible the skin.
On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and pantyhose, in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. Their use is common in autumn and winter.
Tights and pantyhose with a low DEN number are usually used for the spring-summer season. The rest can be used all year round, for example for ceremonies, as the thin shape of the stockings makes them appear more elegant.
