* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread used to make stockings and pantyhose.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the DENIER number (40, 70, etc.), the less transparent the stocking or pantyhose. It is thicker and less skin is visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber stockings and pantyhose in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. They are often worn in autumn and winter.
