What is atrophic vaginitis?

Atrophic vaginitis is a disorder consisting of the thinning of the vaginal walls and a reduction in their lubrication, leading to greater vaginal dryness and inflammation.

It is essentially caused by a decrease in oestrogen, which is the most important female sex hormone. This is a very common problem in menopausal women (50% of women affected by menopause suffer from vaginal atrophy), which affects both their sexual functionality and quality of life. Symptoms can persist for years if appropriate measures are not taken.

The reasons are varied and can originate from small infectious sequelae, atypical morphology, congenital malformations, or simply the fear of penetration.

Vaginal atrophy is a more common problem than believed, affecting women of all ages, although it is more frequent in women after childbirth or during lactation. However, the highest number of cases is found in postmenopausal women, with one in two being affected.

Vaginismus is a vaginal narrowing of the pelvic floor, leading to discomfort, burning, pain, penetration difficulties, or complete inability to have intercourse.

Vaginismus is a common cause of persistent sexual pain. It can affect women at all stages of life; even women who have had comfortable sex for years.

When a man attempts to have intercourse with a woman, the pelvic floor muscle group cramps and tenses, closing the entrance to the vagina and making intercourse impossible and painful. This type of vaginismus makes penetration impossible.

In other cases of vaginismus, penetration may be possible, but the woman experiences periods of involuntary contraction, causing burning, discomfort, or pain.

Solution

With the INTIMICHIC silicone dilator, you can train and gradually expand the vaginal canal. At the same time, small daily exercises can help overcome the fear of penetration. INTIMICHIC DILATOR should be used with a water-based lubricant to facilitate the exercises and simultaneously lubricate and moisturise the vaginal mucosa.

How to use INTIMICHIC DILATOR?

First, apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to the entrance of the vagina (approximately the volume of a chestnut) and gently massage for 2 or 3 minutes.

Next, take the smallest INTIMICHIC DILATOR element. Apply lubricant evenly in the same proportions to the tip.

Then, press to insert it into the vagina in a gentle and progressive manner. If you notice dryness, add lubricant.

You can continue to exercise for 10 to 15 minutes by performing small rocking movements. It is important to remember that contraction of the vaginal muscles is detrimental. If this occurs, the exercise must be stopped.

The goal is relaxation of the vaginal area as well as seeking the pleasure associated with it. Therefore, it is advisable to use a very comfortable place to perform the exercises and to accompany them with quiet music.
